Little Eyes, Big Impact: Do, Re, Mi’s of the Preschool Eye Exam

This course aims to provide the primary care optometrist with the tools and confidence to provide comprehensive eye care to their preschool patients. It will review testing procedures and techniques for examining patients from 2-5 years old and highlight top considerations for each part of the evaluation. It will also discuss the most common medical, genetic, and traumatic issues which may present in a clinical setting. The course will leave the clinician with valuable clinical pearls on identifying and treating disease as well as a newfound confidence for conquering the preschool exam.

ABOUT DR. KEIM:
Erin is a pediatric optometrist at Everett & Hurite Ophthalmic Association in Pittsburgh, PA. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of amblyopia and strabismus, myopia, concussion and ocular disease in the pediatric population. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern College of Optometry where she earned numerous honors recognizing her academic and clinical excellence.
She is also passionate about education and enjoys speaking on any topics relating to pediatrics or genetics. She is an instructor and coach for KMK Education Services and is a member of the Intrepid Eye Society. She has been involved with the CVCA for several years and was recently named POA’s Young Optometrist of the Year.
