Pennsylvania Paraoptometric Association
The Pennsylvania Paraoptometric Association (PPA) was established in 1978 and is chartered by the Pennsylvania Optometric Association (POA). It is the state association serving the needs of all Pennsylvania's optometric technicians and assistants.
What is a Paraoptometric?
Paraoptometrics work with doctors of optometry to perform the routine and technical tasks in the optometric office. They may be trained on the job or at a formal education program.
As a paraoptometric, you hold more than just a job. You play a valuable role in the optometrist's office - in the care of each patient entering your office or clinic. You can, and should, make a contribution to the paraoptometric field with your knowledge and abilities. PPA provides you with the opportunity to learn and grow.
