PARAOPTOMETRIC COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Communication is Life Changing (1 HR CPC)
The course will help you and your staff understand the value of clear and precise communication. It teaches simple step to clear all communication lines. Better communication brings about less stress and more productivity. This creates a HAPPY staff.

The Power of Words (1 HR CPC)
This course will teach how to avoid letting WORDS disrupt the flow of a day in the practice. In this class you will learn an exercise to help your team throw out negative things that have been said and also how to avoid picking up negative words from other coworkers. By not taking on the negativity of others, it increases daily production of each staff member and helps to eliminates undue stress and confusion. This exercise will give a visual of how words destroy and build up a team.

Stress and Relaxation (1 HR CPC)

Stress in the work place is not always within our control. This class will demonstrate exercises that a staff membercan do to reduce the effects of stress and keep their production up. It is a fun class that will get you out of your seat!!

Cross Training – Are you on the right track (1 HR CPC)

Cross training is a key part to having a well balance team. We never know when someone will need to be out and another staff member will need to fill-in. This class will show the values of cross training and the systems to decide what areas of the practice are best to cross train in. You will learn skills that are needed in each area and how to use them in a secondary role.

Goal Setting the S.M.A.R.T way (1 HR CPC)

Workshop style class that will all paras to set goals in their personal and work life. They will learn the S.M.A.R.T. format to set goals. This will allow them to take home all they need to succeed at work and in life.

How to take out the Trash (1 HR CPC)

We will be focusing on changing our negative attitudes to positive. We will learn how to recognize the dangers of having a bad attitude and what it does to us and others in the work place. The attendees will perform an exercise that they can using as often as needed to be able to refocus their negativity to positive. This class will teach a lifestyle change for our attitudes and that is something we all can use.

Brain Aerobics   (1 HR CPC)

This course will allow us to learn which side of the brain is dominant for us, apply Exercises to learn to use both sides of the brain to work to our maximum potential and help us to understand the way our co-workers think to create a more positive work environment.

How to resolve conflict in the Practice (1 HR CPC)
We will talk today about the “hard stuff” when resolving issues. Also learn ways to have discussions dealing with staff, patient, and doctor issues. Once the issue has been handles, we will talk about ways to move pass it. We will role play real cases that have happened and apply the skills we learn in today’s class so all attendees will have a plan for handling conflict.

Hurry Sickness (1 HR CPC)

At times all of us find ourselves catching the HURRY SICKNESS. The course will allow everyone to recognize what this is and how to deal with it. We will learn ways to avoid the continued feeling of being rushed. The constant rush can rob us of the joy of living. There will be take home techniques that everyone can use in the future to prevent this from happening.

Customer Service (1 HR CPC)

Primary objectives for customer service are to be a customer’s advocate and champion. How does this fit into patient care? We will learn skills needed to provide great customer service in today’s world. We will see how the trends in our offices have changed and ways we can better meet the needs of our patients. Good customer service brings in patients, but GREAT customer service keeps them!

Eat the Frog – The key to work efficiency (1 HR CPC)

There is never a better time than NOW to achieve all your goals. We are drowning in options and ways to get things done. This course will teach systems to eliminate procrastination and instill organization. We will have fun finding the source of our procrastination and applying the fix for the problem.
